The major deal-breakers, for us, were the sort-of-misleading FREE trial offer subscription and the high price.

We recently caught wind of this product because it was making pretty big waves in the muscle-building supplement market. It’s a new-ish supplement that’s supposed to boost gym gains, so we were pretty excited to take a look at it.

At first glance, the website seemed pretty typical. We didn’t see much in the way of ‘originality’ in the marketing scheme – but this didn’t deter us.

Let’s be honest – everyone wants to get better gains at the gym. And who wouldn’t want to raise their libido and perform better sexually?

The problem, however, is that there are a ton of products on the market right now that offer these kinds of benefits – and it can be extremely difficult to tell which ones are the good ones, and which ones aren’t.

So what about Pure Muscle X? Is it useful? Will it perform as well as advertised?

These are the questions that we wanted to answer.

Here’s what we found out.

What is it?

Pure Muscle X is said to be a ‘transformative new formula’ that was designed by professionals to help boost your workout and shape your body. In other words, it’s a workout supplement that’s designed to promote better energy and muscle gain.

What is it supposed to do?

Pure Muscle X is supposed to do several things. It’s supposed to help you…

  • Grow stronger muscles faster
  • Get your body into better shape
  • Provide all-natural ingredients
  • Skyrocket your energy levels
  • Enhance your sexual performance

Does it work?

This is probably the biggest question – and to answer it, we looked at three different things. First of all, we looked at the formulation.

The ingredients in this supplement are actually pretty well-known for their benefits. It contains 100% Nitric Oxide, Glutamine, L Arginine, and Glutamine.

Individually, these ingredients are quite effective and impressive. Nitric Oxide is especially effective for many functions within the body – so as far as the formulation itself is concerned, we found no issue with this supplement.

The second thing we looked at was clinical data information. Now, this supplement itself has not been clinically tested, that we could see… though the ingredients have had their own share of studies done on them. Nitric Oxide itself has been the subject of over 60,000 different studies – and has been shown to be a very effective ingredient that’s essential to the human body for a number of very important functions.

But the fact that this supplement itself has not been clinically tested did cause us to wonder if it really works. Without proof, we are left only to look at the formulation and customer reviews, which brings us to the third thing we look at.

Customer feedback.

This is where things start to go a bit more ‘downhill’ for Pure Muscle X. It seems that Pure Muscle X can also be purchased on Amazon.com, in addition to the main product website – and the reviews left on Amazon for it have been quite less than stellar. Most of them (67%) have only 1 star, and the most common complaint about the product is that it is simply a waste of money (doesn’t work).

Granted, you can get your money back on the official website with their 100% money back guarantee – but we were left feeling that, while it could, in theory, work for you – the odds seem to be against it.

You might luck out if you try Pure Muscle X – but you might also get charged a ton of money and be forced to go through the motions of getting it refunded because it didn’t work (we will talk more about this later on). Besides, we don’t know for a fact how straight forward they are with their money back guarantee.

In our opinion, there are better formulations out there.

Complete list of ingredients

Here is some information about the primary ingredients in Pure Muscle X…

  • Nitric Oxide

Nitric Oxide has been very thoroughly studied. It’s basically a molecule created by the body to help the cells to communicate with each other. It is essential for memory, the immune system, regulating blood pressure, reducing inflammation, and for increasing endurance and strength.

  • L Arginine

L Arginine is an amino acid that is required by the body to make proteins. It is used for heart and blood vessel conditions, to prevent the common cold, to improve kidney function, and for improving athletic performance.

  • Glutamine

There have been several studies that have shown that L-Glutamine (the most common amino acid in the muscles), in supplemental form, can minimize the breakdown of muscle and improve protein metabolism.

What does this mean?

Basically, this means that the formulation in Pure Muscle X looks really good when you put all of the ingredients together. Each of these ingredients, on their own, is really effective when you look at the clinical trial information.

Information! The only thing we didn’t see that would have been really nice is clinical trial information for the product itself. When you combine ingredients together into a supplement like this, it’s always very important to verify that it works by looking at clinical evidence.

There are a lot of things that can take away from the usefulness of the product when the ingredients are combined – so we were a bit disappointed to see that Pure Muscle X had not gone through any independent testing.

About the company

Address and history

Here is the official company address, as shown on the official website…

We don’t know a whole lot about this company, aside from the fact that they were actually reprimanded by the ASA back in March of 2013 for a complaint about a breach of CAP advertising code (but for a different website and a different product). You can read about it here.

But perhaps most surprising is that this doesn’t sound too dissimilar from what they are doing on the Pure Muscle X Page… which makes us wonder just how serious they really are about misleading people into jumping into a free trial that they’ll have to pay for later?

This company offers a free, 30 day trial of the product on the website – but what they don’t seem to make very abundantly clear is that you only have 14 days plus 4 days for shipping to determine if the product is ‘right for you’. If you don’t cancel it by then, your card will be billed for $89.95 for the bottle you received, and you will be subsequently billed every month for another bottle until you cancel.

Now, having said that, they do offer a full satisfaction guarantee, in which they guarantee to return all of your money if you end up not liking the product. They also make it pretty easy to cancel your subscription with the online cancellation form, which is pretty nice.

The company also maintains a phone number where you can reach their customer service representatives at 1-415-689-3806.

Shipping costs $5.95 per bottle in the United States.

If you don’t cancel your trial, you will be charged $89.95 per bottle, plus shipping. Each bottle contains 30 days’ worth of product – making this a pretty expensive workout supplement.
You can view some online user reviews from customers who have bought this product on Amazon.com.

To be completely honest, the reviews aren’t very good. Here’s an example of just one of them…

“I wasted good money on 3 bottles of this. It doesn’t do anything.”

There were not a ton of reviews for the product on Amazon… but the vast majority of them pretty much said the same thing as the review above – that the product just didn’t work.

Have users reported any side effects?

As far as we can tell, no users have yet reported any sort of side effect. And judging by the ingredients included in Pure Muscle X, we doubt that it would cause any sort of side effect anyway. All of the ingredients seem natural and safe.

Has this brand been reported to scam sites?

No, this brand has not been reported to scam sites that we know of.

The main brand FAQs

Q: How long is it supposed to take to see improvements if you use Pure Muscle X?
A: On the website, the company says that it will take at least a week to feel something really ‘apparent’. But you should begin to feel at least a bit more energized and revitalized during your workouts from the very first day.
Q: Can you really return Pure Muscle X if you don’t end up liking it?
A: Yes. According to the guarantee, you can get a full 100% refund, including shipping, if you end up not liking the product.
Q: Can you get it shipped to other countries?
A: Yes. Shipping to countries outside of the US costs $8.95.

Pros and Cons

Here are the basic pros and cons that we discovered about Pure Muscle X over the course of our research…

  • You can get a free trial
  • The ingredient formulation seems like it would be effective
  • They offer a 100% money back guarantee on their products
  • Cancelling your subscription on the website seems like it would be an easy process

  • The free trial offer seems a bit misleading, because they will charge you if you don’t cancel
  • The customer reviews for this product weren’t very good
  • There is no clinical evidence to support this particular product
  • It is pretty expensive when you compare it to other products in the same category

GoOkayed Verdict and where to buy

If you wish to buy this product, you can do so on the Pure Muscle X official website.

As for our Go Okayed stamp of approval, we just couldn’t award it to Pure Muscle X. The major deal-breakers, for us, were the sort-of-misleading trial offer subscription, the high price, and the negative customer reviews.

We aren’t saying that this product can’t work, because we did like the ingredients – but we are saying that we believe that there could be better ways to spend your money if you’re looking for a way to boost your workouts and gain more muscle.

If you’re looking for a way to boost gains, muscle growth, energy levels, and sexual performance, then you will probably do better to search elsewhere – at least at first. This supplement is pretty expensive, to be honest – and with such a high percentage of negative customer reviews out there, we simply couldn’t see spending the money if you can find options that have a better reputation for a better price.
